Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler: Makes a Good Breakfast Quickly One weekend my girlfriend and her son decided to stay with me. I always enjoy their company and we always have a good time together. So when they stay with me I have to decide what they will eat. Normally she doesn't eat in the morning, he eats cereal, and I am always hungry. This time we did something different.

It was a simple process for us. The Cuisinart is so versatile that it can easily cook to separate types of food. The way you do this is by converting it to full grill. The Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 comes with several interchangeable plates. One of the plates is the full grill plate. The other plates are contact grill, full grill and Panini press.
While the grill what heating up and it does so quickly, I let Jr. mix the pancake batter. The more he complained about being hungry the more I was heating up as well; my coffee hadn't fully done its job so I was still cranky. Anyway, he mixed the batter while I got the eggs together. We chose to fry the eggs because it is quicker, you know, since he was starving. The red indicator light on the griddler came on which is easy to see and alerted us that cooking time was here.
We have 200 square inches of cooking surface so it is quite easy to cook the eggs, pancakes and bacon at the same time. We put bacon and eggs on 1 side and pancakes on the other. We sprayed Pam on the Teflon cooking surface for good measure to prevent sticking. Our pancakes were mid size, which was easier for him to turn over. God forbid if the pancakes are too big and they break while flipping. If that happens I have to see a salty face and who wants to be bothered with that.
It's bad enough he has already taken over the use of my Cuisinart GR-N So after a few minutes the food is ready (thank goodness because by now I am hungry as a hostage). So I tell Jr. to go get mommy up so we can eat. Once we finish eating breakfast clean up is very easy. The non-stick surfaces clean up quickly and you can wash them in the sink or in the dishwasher. This time around I just washed them in the sink.Jr. was supposed to help but Thundercats was on so it was game over getting him to help. That is alright because when we pull the Panini press out for lunch to make toasted sandwiches I got his number.
So the Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler is a versatile device and is excellent for making breakfast. It is quick to warm up, easy to clean, and simple enough for a little kid to use.
